Shipping policy

1. Shipping Rates & Zones

Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout based on your cart items, delivery address, and any applicable discounts. All rates listed below are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Effective 20 July 2026, shipping rates for the North and South Islands are changing to a weight-based model. Auckland remains unaffected.

Auckland

  • Standard Shipping: NZD $8.00
  • Free Shipping: Available for orders with a final net spend of NZD $120.00 and over. This threshold applies to all customers, including subscription orders — see Section 3 for how discounts are calculated.

North Island

Rates are calculated by total parcel weight:

  • 0 – 14kg: NZD $12.00
  • 14.01 – 29kg: NZD $15.00
  • 29.01 – 50kg: NZD $22.00
  • 50.01 – 85kg: NZD $30.00
  • Over 85kg: Please contact us at support@buynow.co.nz for a custom quote.

South Island

Rates are calculated by total parcel weight:

  • 0 – 14kg: NZD $20.00
  • 14.01 – 29kg: NZD $25.00
  • 29.01 – 50kg: NZD $35.00
  • 50.01 – 85kg: NZD $55.00
  • Over 85kg: Please contact us at support@buynow.co.nz for a custom quote.

Rural Delivery Surcharge

Orders delivered to Rural Delivery (RD) addresses may incur an additional courier surcharge on top of the standard or weight-based rate above. This surcharge is calculated automatically at checkout based on your address and courier availability, and may vary by region and courier partner.

2. Dispatch & Delivery Timeframes

Dispatch Days: Our warehouse currently dispatches orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. Dispatch days may be updated in future to improve delivery speed; any change will be reflected on this page.

Daily Cut-off Time: The cut-off time for dispatch days is 11:00 AM. Orders placed after 11:00 AM will be processed and dispatched on the following scheduled dispatch day. For in-stock items, we aim to dispatch within 2–3 business days.

Estimated Delivery Times

  • Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga: 1–3 business days
  • North Island (Rest of Island): 2–3 business days
  • South Island: 2–4 business days
  • Rural Delivery (RD Addresses): Please allow an additional 2–6 extra business days on top of the standard timeframe.

Note: Business days exclude weekends and New Zealand statutory public holidays. Please allow extra transit time during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas, Black Friday) and public holiday periods.

Perishable & Chilled Products: Many of our products, including dairy items, are perishable. We recommend collecting your parcel promptly upon delivery. BuyNow is not liable for spoilage caused by delays in collection, incorrect delivery addresses, or extreme weather conditions once the parcel has been successfully delivered by the courier.

3. Free Shipping Terms & Exclusions

Coupons, Loyalty Points & Subscription Discounts: The free shipping threshold (NZD $120.00) is determined by the final payment amount after all discounts, coupons, loyalty points, or subscription pricing are applied. If your discounted total falls below NZD $120.00, standard shipping charges will apply. This applies equally to all customers, including those on subscription orders.

Item Exclusions: Gift Vouchers and Gift-Wrapping services are excluded from the NZD $120.00 free shipping calculation.

Oversized & Bulk Items: Free shipping does not apply to oversized, heavy, or bulk items (including but not limited to bulk dairy cartons, large appliances, or any items exceeding standard courier dimensions/weight limits). Freight charges for these items will be automatically calculated at checkout based on volume and address.

4. Order Tracking & Delivery Restrictions

Order Tracking: Once your order has been dispatched, an automated email containing your Tracking Number and a tracking link will be sent to your registered email address.

Courier Partners: We primarily ship via Courier It, Aramex, NZPost, or Post Haste.

Shipping Restrictions: We only deliver to physical addresses within mainland New Zealand. We do not ship to international destinations, PO Boxes, counter deliveries, or private mail bags (PMBs/Locked Bags).

Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Items: If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or incorrect, please contact us at support@buynow.co.nz and we'll help resolve it as quickly as possible.
